Louis Guntrum, Riesling 2022

The Guntrum vineyards have been producing wine in Germany's Rheinhessen since 1648. Now into its (almost unbelievable) 11th generation of family ownership, Konstantin Guntrum and his wife Stephanie continue the tradition set down by their ancestors. Their motto is, "Tradition does not mean guarding the ashes, but stoking the fire" - and that balance of progression and tradition really comes out in the wines. Riesling 2022 is a superb example of off-dry (meaning slightly sweet) German Riesling. Fuller in texture it has lovely rich notes of peaches, green apples and juicy pears which lead to a nice persistent finish. An awesome wine to pair with pork sausages or spicy curries.
